A young girl, Anayah, was reunited with her family after being removed due to severe abuse. She died a short time later at the hands of her parents. Maryland has a bill in the house and senate hoping to prevent Anayah’s story from happening to other children. Maryland laws help protect parental rights and aim to reunify children with their families. This new bill recognizes that there are situations where reunification is not in the best interest of the child.
