Tote Worthy: A program of Court Appointed Special Advocates, serving foster youth of Washington County.
Court Appointed Special Advocates of Washington County is looking for donated duffel bags and suitcases for the children we serve. Our organization advocates for children who have been abused or neglected. Most of these children are in foster care and have no means of transporting their belongings other than with trash bags.
We want to provide each child with a suitcase or duffel bag to show them that their belongings are not disposable, that what they value is important, that we are here and we care, and to empower them with a sense of value, worth, and belonging.
If you have any suitcases or duffel bags you no longer use or if you would like to sew a duffel bag for a child, we would greatly appreciate your donation. We have a simple duffel bag pattern available if are interested (click here for the pattern) or you can use a pattern of your choosing. In addition to the bags we are also accepting donations of sturdy fabric that could be made into a duffel bag.
Please contact us if you would like to donate a bag, donate fabric, pick up donated fabric, receive a sewing pattern to make a bag, or for more information.
